When was the last time you cleaned your dryer vent?

Keep your lint trap cleaned to help prevent a sudden dryer fire.
Dryer Vent Build-Up
Dryer vent fires are a leading cause of residential fires. Dryers are found in so many households, but a lot of homeowners and renters do not know how to properly care for this appliance. There are a few ways to keep these appliances managed.
1. Have a professional install your dryer: Dryers are a big appliance and should be installed by someone who is certified. Specialists have the right tools to properly install it and create safety from the beginning.
2. Follow the instructions on the dryer and your clothing: Even though your dryer is properly installed, sometimes fires can spark from not following the directions on certain materials of clothing. Read the labels that say things like "do not tumble dry, line dry, or contains flammable material."
3. Keep it clean: Every appliance is typically safer when you perform routine maintenance and clean them properly. Taking care of the vent pipe, the inspection of gas operators to void gas leaks, and an inspection of your outside vent to avoid a buildup of dirt, debris, or other materials.
Keep your home safe by keeping up with your appliances, especially your dryer.

Winter Preparedness
We are here to help with your winter emergencies. Winter is not going away just yet. We still have time during February and March, so keep an eye on winter weather in regards to your home. Here are a few ways we can help you keep your home safe:
Water Shut-off
The temperatures are dropping low, and even more so over the next few days. If you don’t know where the water shut-off is in your home, you should find it now.
Ice Dams
In winter, ice dams on roofs can lead to major water damage. Reduce the potential for damage by filling pantyhose with ice melt and tossing it on your roof or along your gutters and downspout.
Winter storms could still be around a few more weeks, so watch the temperatures and contact your local SERVPRO® of Warrick, Spencer, and Dubois Counties for help with any unforeseen water damages.

Why SERVPRO?
Community Outreach
When you go to pick a company to help with your water or fire damage restoration (among our other many services), there can be a variety of factors that determine your decision.
One of those reasons could be because you want to work with a company that is involved in their community.
Recently, there were damaging storms throughout the midwest. After these storms, our team collected items for a week to bring to the tornado relief. The items included everything from water, to clothing, toys, and so much more. They gathered these items from their clients and customers alike.
We banded together with our community and clients to bring these items to donate to the people in need of items after these treacherous storms.
Not only do we go to help clean up the damages, but we want to help the people of the community who were impacted by the damages. The people mean the most to us, and we are so grateful to be able to help them in any way we can.
Why SERVPRO? Because we want to help not only with water, fire, or storm damages in your area, but we want to help our customers get back on their feet by being the best restoration company we can be for our community.
We are here to help!

Emergency Readiness Profile
3/24/2021 (Permalink)
What is an Emergency Readiness Profile (ERP)?
An ERP is a plan that puts all of your important contacts for your business or facility into one Ready Plan App so that you are always ready.
When a disaster strikes, sometimes the most vital information is not on hand. This gives you the ease of information into your hands at a few clicks.
When your property is impacted by emergency damages like fire, water, or mold --quick action is what keeps the damage at a minimum. The best way to do that is to have that information before disaster strikes. This ERP inside your app is great for property managers and the directors of facilities.
Call our offices today or reach out to your marketing representative for more information on how to get your ERP scheduled.

MARKETING REP SPOTLIGHT
12/22/2020 (Permalink)
Our marketing representative, Tanya Pulliam.
Tanya Pulliam is the Marketing Representative for SERVPRO® of Warrick, Spencer, and Dubois Counties. She just started, but she is ready to hit the ground running! In her job, she looks forward to "meeting people, building relationships, and learning how I may be able to help them or their customers during difficult events. It’s about the people for me more than anything else." Her favorite thing is spending time with her family --that is her absolute favorite thing to do. They love the lake, outdoors, game nights, cooking, and movies.
It has been an absolutely amazing beginning to our journey in Warrick/Spencer/Dubois counties! I have enjoyed meeting every one of you and learning about your business, team, and families and cannot wait to see you each time I come by. I’m learning new things every day at SERVPRO, and would love to share fun facts I’ve come across. Fun fact #1: Did you know we do document restoration? WHAT!? It’s really cool, I know.
Here are some little things about me in case you didn’t know already when we talk – because I love to talk, a lot!
I have the most wonderful family – Wayne, Emma, Bailey, Hadley, and Everett – who keep me busy and give me so much love I could just burst. It’s crazy in our house but I couldn’t imagine it any other way. We play Pit & Peak every day at dinner where each person shares the high and low of their day. It’s a great way to stay involved in one another’s lives so I encourage all of my friends to try it at home too.
Some of our favorite things are our morning walks together, spending time at the lake, sitting around the fire pit at home or anywhere else, game nights with friends and family, and we love to cook. I love a good pun or an embarrassing story so bring them on!
